Kris Holmes and Charles Bigelow
The Wingdings fonts were designed by Kris Holmes and Charles Bigelow in1990 and 1991. The fonts were originally named Lucida Icons, Arrows, and Stars to complement the Lucida text font family by the same designers. Renamed, reorganized, and released in 1992 as Microsoft Wingdings(TM), the three fonts provide a harmoniously designed set of icons representing the common components of personal computer systems and the elements of graphical user interfaces. There are icons for PC, monitor, keyboard, mouse, trackball, hard drive, diskette, tape cassette, printer, fax, etc., as well as icons for file folders, documents, mail, mailboxes, windows, clipboard, and wastebasket. In addition, Wingdings includes icons with both traditional and computer significance, such as writing tools and hands, reading glasses, clipping scissors, bell, bomb, check boxes, as well as more traditional images such as weather signs, religious symbols, astrological signs, encircled numerals, a selection of ampersands and interrobangs, plus elegant flowers and flourishes. Pointing and indicating are frequent functions in graphical interfaces, so in adition to a wide selection of pointing hands, the Wingdings fonts also offer arrows in careful gradations of weight and different directions and styles. For variety and impact as bullets, asterisks, and ornaments, Windings also offers a varied set of geometric circles, squares, polygons, targets, and stars.

Hi everyone, I'm new here! I've been troubleshooting a bizarre problem. It relates directly to bullets in Outlook (and on iOS).
Wingding Keyboard Download
Office 2011 and newer has Wingdings 5.03, whereas the Mac OS and iOS appear to have a significantly older version. In 2016, it doesn't install the fonts to the system, but rather has them sandboxed per .app file.
Now starting a couple updates ago, around 15.20ish, Outlook has started using the system fonts rather than MS's sandboxed fonts to render some parts of Outlook, like the reading pane. This causes some odd changes to the first and third bullet indents like changing the font & symbol it's displayed with, and makes bullets look terrible moving from client to client. They change to a very tiny dot (indent 1), and the double-s symbol (indent 3).
Additionally, if I email straight from Outlook with good looking bullets, to my Outlook client on a Mac or iOS device, it's not rendering properly.
A client just reported this started happening after an office update in the last couple weeks, but our testing in-house shows this issue is widespread between versions.

TL;DR: Outlook has different Wingdings than Mac OS. Outlook is not using its own Wingdings for all its rendering, or there appears to be conflict. Wingdings does not display correctly on iOS devices when sent from Outlook for Mac or Windows.
